Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) City Regulations
Number of ADUs allowed:
If the lot is zoned for residential and contains a single family dwelling unit - 1 ADU is allowed. (State requirements)
Types of ADUs allowed:
New construction: detached ADU, attached ADU; Conversion: garage conversion, conversion of existing primary dwelling unit. (State requirements)
ADU size:
Detached structures located in excess of feet from the main house.
Setbacks:
One- and two-family dwellings automatic fire systems. An automatic residential fire sprinkler system_shall be installed in one- and two\xc2\xad family dwellings. Parking:
Parking requirements do not exceed one parking space per unit or per bedroom.
These spaces may be provided as tandem parking on an existing driveway.
Parking spot is not required if the property is located within 0.5 mile distance to public transportation station.
