CAL 888 is another elongated designed ADU with one bedroom, one bath, and an indoor garage/multi-purpose space. It has a 44’ x 13’ living area and a 24’ x 13’ garage/multi-purpose space attached on the side. The floor plan essentially allows for a linear access from the main entrance on one side through the sliding doors and to the sleeping area on the other end. An open space that caters to the living room, dining area and kitchen welcomes the users upon entry. The kitchen is L-shaped with overhead cabinets and a dedicated space for a full-sized refrigerator. An adjacent door leads to the garage/multi-purpose space. The hallway directs its users to the toilet with shower and the bedroom. The bedroom fits a California King sized (72” x 84”) bed. Compared to other California Modular ADUs, this design has a walk-in closet providing a lot of storage space for clothes and vanity items. The washer/dryer is also fitted in the corner of this area instead of a utility closet in the kitchen space. The bedroom has its own patio, situated at the back of the garage/multi-purpose space making it semi-private. The roof is shed type angled along the longer dimension of the plan.  There is also a variation in ceiling height where it is noticeably higher in the living area than in the garage/multi-purpose space. There is a deck on the outside that serves as an extended living space when the sliding doors are opened.
